The Royal Liver Building
Imposing at 322 ft from the ground to the tip of the 18 ft tall Liver Birds’ heads the building has 17 floors, 10 lifts in service and 483 steps from the basement to the tower. This historic building is operated and run by Royal Liver Assurance, which recently celebrated its 150th anniversary and has over 500 staff based at this building and approximately 2,500 tenant’s staff.
WPPM were involved in specifying, design and management of the recent major lift refurbishment programme.
The project involved the refurbishment of the ten existing lifts. All the major mechanical and aesthetic components of the current units were renewed including an innovative control system.
